The Lang Tang Trek

Hi Guys! So me and my husband went on a trek, that we've been planning since more than a year. Those long walks, incredible sunrise, flowing river and instagram posts were lucrative enough for us to finalize the plan. Additionally, my husband is very conscious of physical fitness. Hence, even I decided to go by his choice for current plan. The Lang Tang Trek is a level one trek, where there were three major stops. The Lama Hotel, surrounded by mountains along the river after full day of walk is the first stop. Second stop, comes after a very long and zig-zag path heading to the famous Lang Tang village. And, third day is a small and windy trek to Kyanji Gompa, from where you can see snow covered mountains and glaciers slowly melting into the mighty  Lang Tang river. Day 0. We took a bus from Kathmandu and started out for Syapru Besi. We were given first seat in the bus. Kathmandu had a similar vibe to that of Indian cities. Men and women kept coming in and took their respecti...

Women’s Day

Image
A very happy women’s day to all! We all are surrounded by women playing roles of mother, sisters, friends, teachers, manager, mentor, a businesswoman and many more. In my surrounding, I feel surprised at the extent to which they are able to plan and execute without single crease of tension on their forehead. They will care for you, love you and guide you. When I see them smiling, it gives me a sense of satisfaction and drives me further so that we can provide them with better opportunities. They become a guiding example for their acquaintances. Just like my mother became for me and Nani was for her. The next generation would always take this journey ahead.  I know you must be saying that it’s a women’s day and let’s talk about their achievements. Or this article is coming because it’s 8th of March. Well, no & yes. I have been thinking about it for a very long time. Even though women are aware of the fact that they can do so many things, they felt a sense of emptiness for ...

Being Kind

Image
Hey everybody! As much as I think about the phrase of 'being kind', I've come to realize that I know very little about it. For me, 'kindness' was the first word that I came across while studying Moral Science in school.  Being kind means smiling at new person in the group, giving somebody a genuine compliment, holding the door open for someone else, seeing the best in people when they're struggling to be their best, sticking up for someone when they're being bullied, forgiving someone who has hurt you, helping an injured or lost animal, being patient even when you're in a hurry, saying please/ thank you/ sorry, celebrating differences in others, encouraging someone who needs support, noticing when someone is sad and taking time to understand and help, caring for the less fortunate than you are and many more Being kind means treating the others, the way you want to be treated. It takes courage to do so. Reflecting on past events, I've realized that I...

Feminism

Image
Feminism is such a sensitive topic that some people get offended where as some are always on a defensive mode. Whereas, some of us have been fooled into falling in this trap. I'll tell you where all of this is coming from. First, let me introduce myself. Hey everyone! I'm an outcome and grown up of middle class family.  Where my mom is a housewife, dad is in government service, brother is working in good IT firm now- all grownup and I am only girl child of my parents who are oldest in their generation- sabka bhaar uthane ka zimma hai inke kandho pe. I was fortunate enough to live with my grand-parents and Nana Nani. My mum was an all-rounder in her school and college days and ended up marrying for the sake of her family to get settled in time. She used to be outgoing in nature but ended up being housewife after marriage again for the sake of her family and her children. However, she always wanted to do something and excel in her career as well. So, seeing her upset and percep...

ज़ायक़ा ka तड़का : Story of a daughter giving wings to her mother

Image
Mothers play a vital role in our life. But her roles and responsibilities, in her perspective mostly, revolves around us. She usually spends her whole day looking after our daily needs and forms a pillar of our emotional quotient in our early childhood. But before becoming a mother, she was someone's daughter and before any of that, she is a woman and a human being with a lot of aspirations and dreams. A daughter is said to be the best friend of her mother because she is able to understand and notice the minute activities that her mother is involved in the whole day. No offence to boys though! But yes, often her contributions in the kitchen and maintaining her house goes unnoticed. It is here where the role of her family, specifically her daughter comes into play. An exemplary of this can be seen in a mother-daughter duo of ज़ायक़ा ka तड़का. Before this startup of 2016 took a full-fledged shape that it has taken today, its inception started right from the time this Vijay Hald...

Passengers on the London Underground wearing Cashmere sweaters will ask other passengers to Kindly adjust!

English is a very funny language. Someone has rightly said this. As the food changes every 100 km, so is the language. And English being the most used language globally can take different forms in different parts of the world. Unsurprisingly, accent also changes.  If you ever get a chance to travel out of India, then you will get to experience various English dialects such as New Zealanders English, British English, American English, Canadian English, etc. Even the words with the same meaning will have different spellings in different countries. Colors v/s colours, licence v/s license, humor v/s humour, etc and the most recent one that I am experiencing frequently is organize v/s organise. Which one do you choose? Even, if I start to write in British English using this app, it will suggest an error and try to correct it with American English. Why? Apart from this, a few of the phrases that are often used locally in any country may not be counted as the correct form of English...
