The Lang Tang Trek
Hi Guys!
So me and my husband went on a trek, that we've been planning since more than a year. Those long walks, incredible sunrise, flowing river and instagram posts were lucrative enough for us to finalize the plan. Additionally, my husband is very conscious of physical fitness. Hence, even I decided to go by his choice for current plan.
The Lang Tang Trek is a level one trek, where there were three major stops. The Lama Hotel, surrounded by mountains along the river after full day of walk is the first stop. Second stop, comes after a very long and zig-zag path heading to the famous Lang Tang village. And, third day is a small and windy trek to Kyanji Gompa, from where you can see snow covered mountains and glaciers slowly melting into the mighty Lang Tang river.
Day 0. We took a bus from Kathmandu and started out for Syapru Besi. We were given first seat in the bus. Kathmandu had a similar vibe to that of Indian cities. Men and women kept coming in and took their respective seats. Most of the women took seat in a small compartment next to the driver seat. Smiling, chit-chatting with each other even if they've met them for the first time. Admiring though difficult to adopt habit for me, as its not easy for some of us to make those small conversations. Streets were bustling with school children, sweet shops selling Samosas, shops advertising synonymous brands like Asian Paints and Rathicol, traffic, panipuri vendors. The people of Nepal are know for their warmth, hospitality and strong sense of community.
As we were leaving the city life behind, one could see the lesser traffic and slowly windows of the bus started to open up along the passenger seats, experiencing that fresh breath of air. Rural life in Nepal is deeply rooted in agriculture and tourism, acting as a central means of their employment. Our bus would stop occasionally at random places where passengers would get off or board the bus, landing right in front of their door steps. Casually bus would stop and people will load their gunnybags filled with veggies, breads, grains, etc and the conductor would ensure to deliver them at different stops as we continued on our journey. After a day long journey, we reached Syapru Besi- a small village where most of tourists from different countries gather around.
Day 1. On a Sunday morning, our day started at 5 AM in the morning and were served chocolate pancake as breakfast. Slowly
